Andrea Kalas
Andrea Kalas is Vice President of Media and Archival Services at Iron Mountain, where she leads a team of experts delivering comprehensive archival services to entertainment companies, universities, corporations, and individuals who entrust their valuable assets to her team for preservation and access. Previously, Andrea managed the Paramount Archives, where she combined preservation expertise with technical innovation to develop one of the world’s most significant film archives. Her prior roles include Head of Preservation at the British Film Institute, Digital Studio Director for Discovery Communications, Archivist for DreamWorks SKG, and Preservationist and Research Data Expert at UCLA Film and Television Archive. Andrea is a former President of the Association of Moving Image Archivists and a current member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where she founded the Academy Digital Preservation Forum Initiative. Over her career, she has preserved or restored more than 2,000 films, and in 2023 she received the HPA Outstanding Achievement in Restoration award for her work on The Godfather (1972, dir. Francis Ford Coppola).
